ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

Slusser makes every effort to protect the environment and decrease the impact on surrounding neighborhoods. Engineering controls are employed at all plants to minimize noise to the lowest possible level below the Department of Environmental Protection requirements. Slusser employs a closed loop water system at its Dorrance facility through a belt press system—minimizing the impact on the surrounding water table.

Slusser is also committed to energy conservation and recycling—hot mix asphalt plants use recycled asphalt product (RAP) in all permissible mix designs. The plant burns recycled oil at the burner. Both the asphalt and the stone plants utilize variable speed drives to save on electrical consumption.
